Created by designer Ro Brady, the MedPod is a revolutionary new medical device that can eliminate the problem of patients missing doses of their prescribed medicine or failing to take them at specified times or in specified amounts. The portable device allows patients to customize the intake of medicine and pre-sort all their medicine into prescribed doses for the day. MedPod that reminds patients of potential missed doses as well via text, email, or by phone. The device is battery operated and uses cellular technology to connect to something like a medical cloud to keep information regarding the patient’s intake of medicine. This allows both doctors and caretakers to keep an eye on the patient’s regularity with taking their prescribed medicine and allows patients to remember and monitor their own drug usage. The portable dispenser can connect to the customer and the doctor/caretaker via phone, text and email and keep them connected to an interactive cloud database that is enhanced by real-time medical ecosystem support.The MedPod thus helps ensure high compliance among patients with a busy lifestyle, seniors who have a hard time remembering when to take their meds and even children who often forget when to take their medicines, which ones to take and in what quantity. By pre-sorting the medicine, the device also eliminates the possibility of accident overdose.

MEMBUDAYAKAN ICT DALAM PENDIDIKAN

Kemajuan ICT atau teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi telah menjadi satu cabaran kepada negara dan sistem pendidikan khususnya untuk menyediakan sumber tenaga manusia yang berpengetahuan dan berkemahiran ICT.  Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia sebagai peneraju ICT dalam dunia pendidikan perlu menyediakan keperluan fizikal dan bukan fizikal untuk membolehkan penggunaan ICT sebagai alat pengupaya (enabling tool) pada semua peringkat organisasi pendidikan.  Penggunaan ICT juga mampu membawa perubahan dan pembaharuan kepada sistem pendidikan ke arah memartabatkan pendidikan negara pada peringkat antarabangsa.


LANGKAH 1: KEMUDAHAN KOMPUTER
-        Menyediakan Makmal komputer dan peralatan komputer di sekolah-sekolah di Bandar dan Luar Bandar dengan lengkap oleh Kementerian Pendidikan

LANGKAH 2: KEMAHIRAN GURU DAN PENSYARAH
-    Guru-guru serta juruteknik yang berkemahiran dalam bidang ICT hanya sedikit ataupun terhad bagi sesebuah sekolah termasuk di sekolah bestari atau (smart school). Oleh itu bilangan guru dan juruteknik yang berkemahiran perlu ditambahkan bagi setiap sekolah dalam usaha memastikan penggunaan baik dan berkesan . Guru perlu diberikan kemahiran yang mencukupi untuk menggunakan peralatan ICT secara cekap dan efektif. Satu cara yang ideal untuk meningkatkan efikasi guru terhadap penggunaan ICT ialah dengan menyediakan bengkel atau kursus ICT kepada guru. Dengan adanya bengkel kemahiran ICT bagi para guru akan berupaya meningkatkan efikasi.

LANGKAH 3: MEMBUDAYAKAN PENGGUNAAN ICT DALAM PROSES PENGAJARAN DALAM PEMBELAJARAN
-    Penggunaan ICT dalam bidang  pendidikan dapat meringankan beban serta kekangan yang sedia wujud dalam pembelajaran tradisi yang sebelum ini terhad kepada penggunaan buku, kapur dan papan hitam.Dengan penggunaan ICT dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran, penggunaan komputer adalah menumpu kepada cara dan strategi persembahan maklumat yang digunakan bagi mewujudkan pembelajaran yang berkesan. Teks isi pelajaran yang panjang boleh diringkaskan atau dipersembahkan semula menggunakan media-media yang lebih menarik serta mampu merangsang minda dan menambah kefahaman pelajar. Soalan peperiksaan dan nota juga boleh dimasukkan ke dalam email atau laman web yang digunapakai untuk menggalakkan penggunaan ICT.

LANGKAH 4: SIKAP DAN MINAT GURU/PENSYARAH
-    Seorang pendidik seharusnya mempunyai sifat dan kualiti professional untuk menjalankan tugasnya dengan berkesan mengikut nilai-nilai keguruan. Kualiti profesional seseorang guru merangkumi semangat berdedikasi, peka kepada perubahan, sedar tentang keperluan negara, bersikap positif terhadap pembelajaran, dan mempunyai inovasi dalam tugas. Seseorang guru bertanggungjawab meningkatkan imej profesion keguruan dengan memberi perkhidmatan yang bermutu tinggi. Dalam hal ini, guru hendaklah sentiasa berazam menambahkan ilmu pengetahuan dan kemahirannya dalam bidang pendidikan supaya dapat menjalankan tugas mengajar dengan cekap dan sempurna. Ini merupakan salah satu usaha untuk menepati akauntabilitinya terhadap profesionalisme keguruan.

LANGKAH 5: MENGGALAKAN PENCIPTAAN & INOVASI
-    Pameran ciptaan inovasi yang terkini perlu diadakan untuk mendedahkan kepada orang ramai tentang teknologi terkini yang boleh diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan Mungkin cara ini sangat sesuai kepada orang ramai yang meminati bidang ini tanpa perlu mereka berbelanja besar untuk ke luar Negara.   Selain itu pertandingan mereka cipta berkonsepkan inovasi juga perlu digalakkan kepada semua masyarakat untuk menunjukkan kreativiti mereka dalam bidang ciptaan, seterusnya boleh diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan seharian. 
LANGKAH 6:  MEMASUKKAN TEKNOLOGI DAN INOVASI DALAM KOKURIKULUM DI SEKOLAH/UNIVERSITI 
-    Sekolah, kolej dan universiti merupakan institusi formal yang melatih dan mengasah kemahiran dan pengetahuan pelajar mengenai ICT. Teknologi dan Inovasi harus dimasukkan dalam salah satu aktiviti kokurikulum di peringkat sekolah rendah lagi bagi memberi pendedahan awal kepada pelajar kepentingan komputer dalam pendidikan dan pelajar dapat membiasakan diri untuk menggunakan ICT dalam proses pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan berkesan.

Urusan jual beli di internet merupakan cara perniagaan yang mudah secara online. Perkembangan ICT pada masa ini juga mempengaruhi perkembangan ekonomi. Berbagai cara jual beli yang sebelum ini hanya boleh dilakukan dengan cara bertemu langsung antara penjual dan pembeli, kini dapat dengan mudah dilakukan hanya melalui internet. Jual beli melalui Internet ini dikenali dengan nama e-commerce. E-Commerce secara umum adalah transaksi jual beli secara elektronik melalui media internet. Sebagai suatu proses berbisnes dengan menggunakan teknologi elektronik yang menghubungkan antara perusahaan, pengguna dan masyarakat dalam bentuk transaksi elektronik dan pertukaran atau penjualan barang, servis, dan informasi secara elektronik.

Jual Beli Online yang saya gunakan adalah Facebook untuk membeli kek, tudung, biskut raya dan pakaian. Saya juga berpengalaman menggunakan Laman Web Mudah.Com untuk membeli sebuah kereta kancil. Kereta tersebut telah saya gunakan selama setahun. Kereta tersebut berada dalam keadaan baik dan belum pernah berlaku kerosakan yang serius terhadap enjin. Keluarga saya juga menggunakan Laman Web Mudah.Com untuk menjalankan perniagaan  kereta sewa dan rumah sewa yang begitu menguntungkan.

Bagaimana dengan anda, pernahkah anda membeli barang melalui internet?  Ada yang berpendapat membeli-belah melalui laman web jauh lebih memudahkan berbanding ke kedai. Mempunyai lebih banyak masa untuk pilih apa yang hendak dibeli  dan barang-barang itu akan dihantar terus ke rumah. Pembeli hanya perlu tunggu sahaja di rumah.
